Okay you invest in property and that is never a bad thing with the world population ever increasing and demand is always there generating an increase the in value of the property, but who would have guessed the extra work involved in actually renting out the property?
Yes I have an on-site manager to take care of the property, but it needs to be occupied to earn the money. How does one ensure that when there are so many holiday properties for holiday-makers to choose from?
Today more and more people book their holidays through the internet. So it figures that one has to have a website to advertise the property -or several ! The website may look fantastic if it is ever viewed, but then comes the big problem -how to get it viewed when there are literally thousands of websites advertising holiday properties?
One soon learns the Search Engine Optimization of the websites is necessary, as if the website is not in the first couple of pages of the major search engines then nobody will take the trouble to go to page 100 to find yours!
This is what is swallowing up my time - learning how to get my sites in the top ten results for each search engine. So much to learn and to put into practice. Each search engine like Google has a secret algorithm which they vary from time to time for placing sites high in their list. Oh boy what a task it is and if I lived for a 150 years I would still be learning the tricks!
There are other things that I would like to spend my remaining time doing -fishing,golf,playing my keyboard and perhaps doing some gardening and household improvements but I just cannot seem to break away from this ongoing task. My wife has often threatened to throw the laptop out of the window as I am no longer the man she married! She advises our unmarried daughters to avoid anyone who knows anything about computers! Of course she realizes that our income depends on me tapping these keys but ......
